Glueck, A Good Luck Charm

You know how some people have their lucky bowling shirt, or carry a lucky coin in their pocket? This little fellow has got to be the most unusual good luck charm I've seen. Bella Dio is Italian for Beautiful God

Bella Dio is run by a stay-at-home mom of three boys who lives in Indianapolis. I am amazed and awed by her versatility and resourcefulness: she makes beaded jewelry, does wire work, creates stunning polymer clay pendants, and her newest line involves bits of broken china recycled into lovely jewelry. As a Play-doh artist who could never make anything more complicated than a snake, I could browse her shop and admire her work for hours. Polymer Pendants from Staci Rose

You can find a nice assortment of pretty and spunky jewelry at Staci Rose Designs, but I felt extremely lucky to discover her bright polymer clay pendants. Happy Birthday, and Gee--You're Really Old!

This past weekend was my mom's birthday. She had been looking forward to it--it was her 70th, and she never thought she'd live to see it. I thought I'd share the gifts I got for her with you.




These fabulous pieces are hand-crafted from polymer clay by Zuda Gay. Mom loves purple, so I placed an order for two custom-made pieces. The first image is a pendant that measures about 1.5" across; the second is a brooch that's about 2" across. The detail just fascinates me!
