More Than 4,000 Beads

Anna of A Rose by Name creates lovely beaded earrings, bracelets, and necklaces, as well as lip balm holders, card cases, and key chains. But my absolute favorites are her beaded candle holders: each one contains well over 4,000 beads, all woven and stitched by hand.

Links Around the World

I got tagged by Seeking Serenity.
Let us all help each other out by doing each and everyone a little favor . . . building our Technorati ranks and probably our Google page rank! How? By doing this tag! ^_^ I am making this not only to build up my own blog, but of course, to build up yours as well! So tag along, and lend us your helping hands.

Disclosure: The image was taken from a very informative site about parenting: more4kids.info

2. After placing your blog’s address/es, you must tag 5 or more bloggers that are not yet on the list, this is to keep the ball rolling. (Please remember to let the bloggers know they've been tagged!)

3. Here is the best part: Make sure to update your list every now and then, by getting the master list here. ^_^

From Astrophysics to Jewelry

The beaded pieces at Silver Dragon Creations are simply stunning. Owner-artist Patricia C. Vener's life is as intriguing as her beadwork:
My path as an artist, however, was a duet of both fine and performing arts. I am a (retired) ballerina as well as a published artist, having done illustrations for a CD picture book, Papa Cardinal Finds Breakfast, by Sandra Wellborn. One of my paintings accompanied an essay I wrote for an astronomy textbook. I also hold a Masters Degree in Astrophysics from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY, and have worked as an astronomer and still teach astronomy as an adjunct professor for University of Maryland University College.
Take a look at two of my favorites, but don't stop there--this shop is worth a look!

Welcome to the Ultimate Blog Party 2008!

Welcome to Lucky Girl Trading’s party in the 2008 Ultimate Blog Party! I'm Peggy, and I create fused glass jewelry, braided Kumihimo jewelry, and fascinating Temari balls (at least they fascinate me!). Some of my work is available in my Etsy shop, and I also have an eBay store stocked with necklace chains, jewelry pouches and boxes, and some gemstone jewelry. To celebrate this blog party, I'm offering free shipping on orders from either store all week long! Put "Blog Party" in the notes to seller if you shop on Etsy, or use the Ask Seller a Question feature if you shop on eBay. I'll send you a no-shipping invoice before you check out, or if you're in a hurry, I'll refund your shipping charge.

I hope you enjoy the party and get to meet many new bloggers this week. I'm looking forward to reading as many new blogs as I can fit into my schedule!

If you haven't already, head on over to 5 Minutes for Mom--our awesome party hostess--and check out the party prize list. I'm giving away a fused glass pendant as a party prize--check back later this week to see a photo.
